Description: Vintage salesman sample diminutive bombe chest or commode. Solid hardwood construction. Beautiful burlwood veneer top. The drawers are fully lined with a blue-white pattern paper. Likely from the 1950s or 1960s and from a major furniture maker. Label on the bottom say "Made in Italy"

Condition: Very Good. Some nicks and dings but no structural or water damage noted.

Bio: Salesmans samples were a common item in the early 20th century, as salesmen needed a smaller version of their product to show off to retailers, and retailers in turn needed a way to demonstrate the features of larger items, which might need to be ordered from the manufacturer, to their customers. Many salesman's samples were highly detailed, with additional marketing copy pointing out important features of the product.
