C. 1980 Acoma Pot or Vase by M.J. Torivio

Estimate: $175-$250

Description: Circa 1980 Acoma polychrome 'olla' pot or vase by native-American artists Mike and Jackie Torivio. This pot was hand-coiled and painted with marks on the bottom reading "MJ Torivio Acoma NM."

Dimensions: 4" x 5"

Condition: Excellent. Bottom has 5 rubber feet adhered for shelf safety.

Bio: Mike and Jackie Torivio, a husband-and-wife team of potters from Acoma pueblo in New Mexico, are known for their incorporation of traditional methods into their award-winning pieces. The couple collect clay from the earth around the pueblo, use only natural materials for paints and fire their pottery outdoors the way it was done centuries ago.
