Description: A feather dance depicting Oglala Lakota Sioux Indian “Chief He Dog” brother of crazy horse. Full war bonnet is worn by the dancer with beaded cuffs, breastplate and beaded arm bands. Chief He Dog dances with a single eagle feather. The “Feather Dance” or “Fancy Dance” is one of the most important of Native American dances and outfits worn by the dancer are very regal and colorful.
Condition: Very Good. The artwork is framed in a lightweight gold metal frame. The artists name “Nieto” is inscribed on the lower left side of canvas: Verso: Inscribed on the canvas overwrapping the stretcher bar: “Chief He Dog Brother of Crazy Horse” and “Fancy Dancer”.
