C. 1956 Frankoma Water Pitcher #4D

Description: Vintage, c. 1950, Frankoma water pitcher #4D in Prairie Green glaze.

Dimensions: 7" x 9.5" x 4.25"

Condition: Excellent, no damage or repairs noted

Bio: Frankoma Pottery was founded in 1933, in Norman, Oklahoma, by John F. Frank and moved to Sapulpa, Oklahoma in 1938. It was originally known as The Frank Potteries. They produced bakeware, cookware, dinnerware, vases and other holloware items. Early pieces were made from light-colored, creamy beige clay from Ada known as “Ada” clay but they switched to a reddish, reddish pink clay from Sapulpa in 1956. The pieces were very functional with a Southwest style. Each piece had up to eight different artisans working on them.
